Specializations of the university
Research at OHM is interdisciplinary and provides a solid base for the development of new ideas. The Nuremberg Institute of Technology has obligated itself to the Bavarian Department for Science, Research and Art to develop multi-faculty competence centers for subjects such as logistics, energy and nano technology and finance. The university thereby pursues an intense interconnection with core industries and businesses of the greater metropolitan Nuremberg and regional networks. Furthermore, there are numerous companies that have been founded by the university.
The university is an active global player and has built up wordwide over 130 university partnerships. This facilitates international exchange, whereby our approximately 1,100 international students from 96 nations also profit. Just recently, a German research study among foreign students has found out that their satisfaction with life and study in Nuremberg is pretty high: OHM now ranks second place among 28 universities in Germany.
